Dimitrij Ovtcharov

Dimitrij Ovtcharov (Ukrainian Дмитро Овчаров / Dmytro Owtscharow, Russian Дмитрий Михайлович Овчаров / Dmitri Mikhailovich Owtscharow; born September 2, 1988 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, USSR ) is a German table tennis player of Ukrainian descent.

Career

Already in his childhood Dimitrij was encouraged by his father Mikhail Owtscharow, a former Soviet table tennis champion ( about 80 appearances in the national team), and his mother, Tatiana, who has an A- license coaching license. 1992 pulled the table tennis enthusiastic family in the district of Hamelin Tündern. Doping violation and waiver of disciplinary proceedings

On 22 September 2010, the German Table Tennis Association ( DTTB ) Ovtcharov had provisionally suspended after a positive doping test with immediate effect. Dimitrijs father Mikhail Owtscharow ( born May 11, 1961) played in the Russian national team and was up to the 2007/ 08 season coach in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga with TSV swallow Tündern (2009). He was a Soviet champion in 1982 and twice took part in World and European championships.
