Dimitris Horn

Dimitris Horn (Greek Δημήτρης Χορν, born March 9, 1921 in Athens, † January 16, 1998 ) was a Greek actor and director.

Life

Dimitris Horn was born the son of the playwright Pantelis Horn. He studied at the School of the National Theatre in Athens and had his stage debut in 1941. After the end of the occupation, he and Vaso Manolidou and Mary Aroni an ensemble.

The six years older than Edith Piaf was in love with Horn, but the love remained unfulfilled. She wrote in a letter of 20 September 1946, it:

Horn later married the artist and shipping heiress Anna Goulandris ( 1921-1988 ).

After the end of the junta Horn was transitional from 1974 to 1975 director of the state broadcaster ERT.

At first horn was of classics at the theater, and later with avant-garde films. Although he starred in only ten films, these are regarded as milestones of the Greek film, including The Counterfeit Coin ( 1954), The Girl in Black (1956) and We Have Only One Life (1958).
