The Dinara (1831 m) is the highest mountain in Croatia.

The Dinara is on the border between Croatia and Bosnia - Herzegovina in the Dalmatian hinterland, near the town of Knin. At the foot of the mountain and in the immediate vicinity is located on the Croatian side of the village Kijevo. From this village you can see the impressive mountain in its overall size.

The Dinara is not only one of the numerous peaks of the Dinaric Alps, but extends self up out of the landscape. The population of around Kijevo calls the mountaintop also Sinjal, in reference to the word signal and the measurement pillar, which is located at the top. The entire mountain is covered only sparsely. There are no trees. Since there is only a gentle slope to cope up to the summit, the mountain is a popular destination for excursions and hiking the local population. Mountain huts but there are none.
