Dinard

Dinard is a commune in the department of Ille -et -Vilaine in the Brittany region. The town lies at the mouth of the Rance River opposite Saint- Malo.

Dinard is often called the Nice of the North. It was in the 19th century to the seaside resort of wealthy Englishmen, which has left traces in the form of numerous villas today. Today Dinard has 10,230 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011).

It is twinned with Starnberg in Germany, which expresses itself, among others, in a French Week, a wine festival in Starnberg. Furthermore, Dinard is a founding member of the Federation of European cities Napoleon.
