Dinka (proper name: Thuɔŋjäŋ ) is a westnilotische language that is spoken by the people of the Dinka in southern Sudan. 1982, there were about 1.35 million speakers of Dinka dialects.
The language consists of five dialects understand each other:
- Northeastern Dinka ( Padang )
- Northwest Dinka ( Ruweng )
- South Central Dinka (agar )
- Southeast Dinka ( Bor )
- Southwest Dinka ( Rek )
Written is the Dinka language with a modified Latin alphabet, which was set in 1928 at a conference in Rejaf for the Southern Sudanese languages.
