Geographical Location

The village is located about 25 kilometers west of Augsburg amidst the nature park Augsburg Western Woods. The municipality is located, except for small border areas in the landscape of Reischenau.

History

Dinkelscherben began in the 11th century in a forest clearing. First mentioned was the place 1162nd From the 15th century to its secularization in 1803 the site was owned by the cathedral chapter of Augsburg, the place came to Bavaria. Attractions

The site is dominated by the Catholic parish church of St. Anna. It was built in 1507 and 1580 supplemented by a tower. In the 18th century the entire building was in Baroque style. Also worth seeing is the castle chapel, which was obtained as a single building of the castle Zusameck today.

With the opening of hops Augsburg- Dinkelscherben September 26, 1853, and Dinkelscherben - Burgau on May 1, 1854 Dinkelscherben received over the thus resulting railway Augsburg- Ulm, which was part of the Bavarian Maximilian web, connection to the railway network.
