Dino Baggio

Dino Baggio ( born July 24, 1971 in Camposampiero PD ) is a retired Italian footballer. He is neither related nor related by Roberto Baggio.

Career

In the club

Dino Baggio comes from the youth department of Torino Calcio. His Serie A debut Baggio at the age of 19 years on September 9, 1990 at the Torino game against Lazio, at that time he was considered one of the greatest talents of Italy. After a year in the first team of Torino Calcio 1991, he moved to Inter Milan, where he played only one year. 1992 Dino Baggio went to Juventus, where he was not particularly popular with the fans at first, due to his past when local rivals, but still spent two excellent seasons. The culmination of these two successful years under Giovanni Trapattoni was winning the UEFA Cup 1992 /93. Here Baggio scored a total of three goals in the final two games against Borussia Dortmund.

In summer 1994, Baggio moved to Parma, where he played from 1994 to 2000. In 1995 under coach Nevio Scala again winning the title in the UEFA Cup. In the return match against Juventus he scored one goal each, and was thus decisive penalty spot. 1994/95 and 1996/97 reached Baggio with the Emilian club with second place the best Serie A rankings in the club's history. In 1999, then even followed his third UEFA Cup victory. In that competition Baggio was hit in the second-round encounter at the Polish club Wisła Kraków from a metallic object on the head. Baggio stated that it had acted as a knife, which the club denied. Wisła Kraków was therefore subject to a European Cup lock.

In October 2000, Dino Baggio moved to Lazio, where he spent five years in total was under contract. In summer 2003, he was loaned for six months at the English club Blackburn Rovers, where, however, he had no success. The return series of the season 2003/ 04 he spent on loan at Ancona Calcio. By 2005, Baggio was then mostly reserve players at Lazio.

In summer 2005, Dino Baggio moved to the U.S. Triestina in the example series after only three appearances for the club, he decided for personal problems with the then coach Pietro Vierchowod, in October of the same year, however, to terminate his contract and end his active career. Total Dino Baggio graduated 333 Serie A games in which he scored 25 goals.

In 2008, Baggio played a game for the small amateur club tombolo from Padua, who was trained by his first coach ever, Cesare Crivellaro.

In the National Team

For the Italian national team Dino Baggio played 60 times, scoring seven goals. He participated with Italy at the 1994 World Cup, where he was among the top performers of the Azzurri and Vice World Champion. He also took part in Euro 1996 and the 1998 World Cup with Italy.
