Diocles of Magnesia

Diocles of Magnesia was a Greek professional writer. From which place called Magnesia he came from is unclear. He lived in the 2nd century BC and wrote a history of philosophy in three books, which is not obtained. It is from historian of philosophy Diogenes Laertius (3rd century AD) quoted at 19 places.

Diocles was (ca. 130-60 BC), a friend of the Epigrammdichter Meleager of Gadara, who dedicated to him his 70 published BC poem wreath.
