Diodotus I

Diodotus I. was the founder of the Greek - Bactrian kingdom, who ruled around 255-239 BC. He was initially a satrap of the Seleucids, who then but rebelled against Antiochus II. He fought against the resulting Parthia, he could in his place and seemed to be received against this even an alliance with Seleucus II. Diodotus I. is mentioned in classical authors and is best known from his coins forth. He was succeeded by his son Diodotus II
