Diogo Gomes

Diogo Gomes ( * 1420, † 1502) was a Portuguese navigator, explorer and writer.

Gomes started his career as cavaleiro ( Knight ) at the Portuguese court and was in 1440 in the customs sector of the state operates. In 1466 he was sent as a judge to the Court of Sintra and confirmed on March 5, 1482 in this office. Gomes wrote in favor of Martin Behaim provided written in Latin chronicle, which later enjoyed great esteem.
