Dionisio Mejía

Dionisio Mejía ( born January 6, 1907July 17, 1963 ), also known by the nickname Nicho, was a Mexican football player on the position of the striker.

Biography

He was a member of the Mexican national football team, and took her part in the first World Cup in 1930. There he came in the game against France (1:4 ) are used. Also, during the World Cup qualifiers for the tournament in 1934, he was inducted into the National Team of his home country. There he came in games against Cuba (3:2 and 5:0 ), and in the decisive match against the USA ( 2:4 ) was used and scored seven goals. He also belonged to the squad for the Olympic Summer Games 1928 in which Mexico against Spain ( 1:7 ) and Chile (1-3 ) lost, was there not, however, be used.

At club level he was in the 1928/29 season top scorer in the capital League and won three years later with his longtime club Atlante the championship.
