Diorama (Band)

Diorama is a German musical project with mostly English lyrics. The musical spectrum ranges from simple piano pieces to electro pop.

Band History

Diorama was founded in 1996 by Torben Wendt, whose musical background was previously in punk and trance. In addition, Wendt has completed a 13 -year-old classical piano training.

Following the release of the demo recording "Leaving Hollywood" label Accession Records interest and Adrian Hates ( Diary of Dreams ) expressed, could be won as producer for the next album.

In 1999, the rather quiet debut album Pale was released, on which the band had been working for over two years.

2000 went diorama as the opening act of Diary of Dreams on tour. In this tour, Wendt confined himself to accompany his pieces exclusively on the piano.

The following year, the album was released her liquid arms, which musically significantly differed by its electronic alignment from the first album. It included some club orientated tracks like " her liquid arms" or " advance". The album reached the top ten of the German Alternative Charts. Felix Marc joined as co- producer and singer for the band.

As a first collaboration with bassist Bernard le Sigue 2002, they created the album the art of creating confusing spirits. At the end of the band returned with Diary of Dreams on Germany and European tour.

As last year, Wendt went abroad, where he, a fourth member of the band found in Sascha Judt ( " Sash Fiddler " ), who had worked in earlier times with Bernard le Sigue 2003.

Published in April 2005 Diorama amaroid the fourth album. So they played, among others, various live performances with VNV Nation in Europe.

Repale, a summary of old and new songs was released in the same year. The band then went from Germany to Russia on a headliner tour.

In October 2006, the band announced the departure of Bernard le Sigue known; Reasons were not disclosed.

After some remix work, eg for Davos ( "What I prefer " ) or frozen plasma ( " Hypocrite " ), a sampler contribution to Accession Records - Sampler Vol 3 (" The pulse of life" ), and a collaboration with Painbastard ( " Torn" ), the band worked on the completion of the album "a different life ", which was released in March 2007.

On March 19, 2010 published the album Diorama " Cubed ".

Their latest album "Even the Devil Does not Care " was released on 25 January 2013. Subsequent album tour began in March and led the band with some appearances by Germany and Russia, and for the first time in the band's history to Belarus. In addition, some festival appearances were in the band program. Among the Mera Luna Festival and the Summer Darkness festival.
