History

The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna goes on, founded by Empress Maria Theresa in 1754 kk Oriental Academy back. The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna is thus regarded as the oldest school of diplomacy in the world. At the end of the 19th century, the former Oriental Academy was reorganized as a Consular. During the Nazi regime, it was completely closed. The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in its current form dates back to the re-opening by the then Foreign Minister Bruno Kreisky in September 1964. This ordered the Austrian- American historian and political scientist Ernst Florian Winter as the first director after the Second World War. In 1996, the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna was spun off from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been an autonomous institution under Austrian law. Courses

Diploma Course

The Diploma Course is the main program, which was established in 1964 simultaneously with the re-opening of the Academy after the Second World War. Master of Advanced International Studies ( MAIS)

The existing since the academic year 1997/98 Master CORN is a joint program of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the University of Vienna. The academic focus of this interdisciplinary training, which is entitled " European Integration in a Changing World ", is the provision of skills that are necessary for an evaluation and assessment of the current European and global trends. In order to achieve this educational goal sees the curriculum of the first year prior to lectures in the fields of international relations, economics and international economic relations, political History and International and European law. In the second year, the focus is on the analysis of specific issues. Master of Science in Environmental Technology & International Affairs ( ETIA )

The existing since the academic year 2007/ 08 Master ETIA is a joint program of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology a postgraduate course, is to provide knowledge that are necessary for the development and implementation of measures at international level. The Master's program ETIA extends over two years. The first year is to the DA, the second will be completed at TU. Summer Course

The existing since 1997 Summer Course for German Language and Austrian Studies is designed for students of all nationalities. In small groups and on six different course levels the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening are trained.
