Direct Numerical Control

Distributed Numerical Control (DNC) referred to in the manufacturing technology, the embedding of computer-controlled machine tools ( CNC machines) in a computer network. The treatment programs are loaded on demand with the help of the DNC system from one of the connected computers in the control system. DNC systems allow the move away from paper tape or diskette as a data carrier. This was made possible only by the development of network technology, the ( insensitive great to be bridged distances, strong electromagnetic fields, oil and acid resistance to temperature variations) is to be relatively susceptible to interference against the ruling in workshops conditions.

As a medium, twisted pair cables are used in most cases. The realization based serial interfaces on the basis of the EIA-232 standards is still often applied in practice. Also, Wireless DNC and wireless DNC is already common today.

Often, standard PCs are used, and up to 256 CNC machines per PC are processed. The DNC technique is also capable of the acquisition of a new motherboard with more memory is not profitable for machines with small main memory, with their use purposes, continuously reloading instruction sets.
