Directional control valve

Directional control valves are used in fluid power (pneumatics and hydraulics) to release the path for the working medium (compressed air, hydraulic fluid ), to block or change the direction of flow. The valves differ according to the following main features:

Directional control valves are described according to the number of switching positions and the number of ports per switch position. The switch position is indicated by the left starting with lowercase letters in alphabetical order.

With directional control valves, the direction of the volume flow, i.e. the direction of extension of a cylinder and controlled by start-stop commands, the path length of the stroke.
