Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development

The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development ( DG AGRI) is one of the Generals of the European Commission, which belongs to the DGs for organizational policies (policies ).

The department runs the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development. The Office shall be executed in the Barroso II Commission of Dacian Cioloş. The Directorate-General has its headquarters in Brussels.

The tasks of the Directorate for the implementation of the common agricultural policy counts as the rural development policy. The rural development policy is part of the EU structural policy, which is also implemented by other DGs.

The General Directorate is divided into 13 directorates and has approximately 1,000 employees. It is headed by Director-General José Manuel Silvia Rodriguez. Under him are four Deputy Directors General, who are responsible for each of two to four directorates. The Directorates -General for Agriculture and Rural Development are:
