Directory of Open Access Journals

The Directory of Open Access Journals ( DOAJ ) is operated by the University Library of the University of Lund in Sweden Directory of electronic journals that are freely accessible to the principles of open access on the Internet.

Be included scientific journals with quality control, are charged immediately after the show ( and not only after a vesting period, embargo period ) available online. The majority of the recorded publications has no share content about the model of the Creative Commons, although the Open Access declarations not only want to eliminate the barrier to entry of the price barriers, but also turn against the permission barriers.

In December 2004 the DOAJ counted more than 1400 entries, in January 2006, it reached the number of 2,000 free journals. In October 2007 2880 magazines were already mentioned, in September 2008 it was 3644, in September 2010, 5350 and in October 2012 there were 8,317 journals. As of January 5, 2014 9,804 Open Access Journals were recorded.

Unlike the ECB, which is considerably more magazines "free" lists as among other things, due to less stringent admission criteria, in some of the magazines is a search for individual essays possible ( in January 2006 at the 400 magazines with nearly 84,000 articles, in September 2008 1,254 journals with articles 209 571, September 2010 2,257 442 468 magazines with articles in October 2012 4,099 journals with 919 304 articles). As of January 5, 2014 5,636 magazines were ( with a total of 1573847 articles ) searchable at article level, or approximately 57.5 % of all listed open access journals.
