Dirk Becker

Dirk Becker ( born May 4, 1966 in Bielefeld - Gadderbaum ) is a German politician ( SPD).

Life and career

Post-high school in 1983 Becker was trained in the Middle service in the city of Bielefeld, where he was then from 1985 to 1992 in the housing area of the district office Heepen active. From 1992 to 1995 Becker graduated from the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Bielefeld, which he finished with a degree in Public Administration ( FH). He then joined the management of the City Library and Bielefeld in 1999, administrative director of the Community College of Bielefeld.

Party

Becker is a member of the SPD since 1988 and since 2007 Chairman of the SPD district Lippe. 2004 Becker was the top candidate of the SPD for the office of mayor of Oerlinghausen, but could not prevail against the non-party incumbent Ursula Herbort itself.

Member of Parliament

Becker also served from 1994 to 2005 at the Council of the City Oerlinghausen and was here from 2002 to 2005 chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. Since 2005 he is member of the German Bundestag. Dirk Becker retired in 2005 with 48.0 % of first preference votes than directly elected representative of the constituency lip I in the Bundestag.

Public offices

From 1999 to 2004 Becker was deputy mayor of the city Oerlinghausen.
