Dirk Bockel

Dirk Bockel ( born October 18, 1976 in Waiblingen ) is a German triathlete originally who owns the Luxembourg nationality since 2006.

Career

Dirk Bockel grew up in Germany, then studied in the United States and starts for Luxembourg. He is trained by Michael Krueger.

In 2007, he decided the winner country triathlon for themselves. In 2008 he participated at the Olympic Games in Beijing in triathlon over the Olympic distance ( 1500m swim, 40 km cycling and 10.000 m running) part. Since January 2012, he is the team Leopard Trek Continental team under contract, which is also the first time in the history of triathlon that an athlete is part of a professional cycling team. In June 2012, he won his first victory in Regensburg on the Ironman distance.

In July 2013 he won at the Challenge Roth on the long distance.
