Dirk Fock

Dirk Fock ( born June 19, 1858 in Wijk bij Duurstede, † October 17th 1941 in The Hague) was a Dutch politician.

Dirk Fock was a leading liberal statesman of the Netherlands in the first half of the 20th century. He was a lawyer ( mr.: meester in de right, title for a law degree at a Dutch university) and state politicians. He came in 1901 for a Rotterdam district in the Second Chamber (comparable to the German Bundestag ). He had great interest in colonial affairs and was also from 1908 to 1911 governor of Suriname and later Minister for the Colonies. He remained politically active into old age. 1928, the honorary title of Minister of State, he was awarded.
