Dirk Helbing
Dirk Helbing ( born January 19, 1965 in Aalen ) is since 2007 Professor of Sociology at the ETH Zurich.
Life and achievements
Helbing studied physics and mathematics in Göttingen doctorate and habilitation in Theoretical Physics in Stuttgart. As a scientist, he then worked in Israel, California and Hungary.
From 2000 to 2007 he was professor in Dresden for Verkehrsökonometrie and statistics, since he is a professor of sociology with emphasis Modelling and Simulation in Zurich. His research interests include behavioral models, decision theory and game theory, socio-economic systems (including Evolutionary Finance) and stochastic processes and Monte Carlo simulations.
