Dirk Lottner

Dirk Lottner ( born March 4, 1972 in Cologne ) is a former German football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Association

His career as a professional soccer player began the Cologne in 1992 at SC Fortuna Köln in the Bundesliga 2. After five years he joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen, but where he could not prevail. He then played six years in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga for 1.FC Cologne, where he was at times captain of the team. In 2004 he was retired for alleged runs -driven deficits. Lottner then moved to MSV Duisburg, with whom he indeed rising in the Bundesliga, but also where he eked out only a reservist existence.

For the fans of the 1st FC Cologne Lottner enjoys cult status today and is a role model remained, not least because it is one of the few oft-cited "types" was in football and has never made a secret of his emotional attachment to the FC. In the Fan Curve Cologne can be found to this day posters and banners with Lottners name. In particular, the left-footer has remained the public as "Lord of the resting Balls " in memory. A professional comeback at the Cologne tabloid press had speculated, however, rejected both Lottner themselves and the club.

National

For the U -21 Germany Lottner played eight times, but he scored one goal.

Coach

Since his retirement as a player, he was active in the youth area of the 1st FC Cologne. He coached from 2007 to 2010, the U-17 team. Since April 1, Lottner is owned by the trainer's license of the German Football Association (DFB).

Since the season 2011/12 Lottner was head coach of the U -21 of the 1st FC Cologne. On April 22, 2013 Lottner was released after a long failure series. As of April 12, 2012, he was up to the end of the season again also assistant coach of the first team.
