Dirk Sager

Dirk Sager ( born August 13, 1940 in Hamburg, † January 2, 2014 in Potsdam ) was a German journalist.

Life

After finishing high school at a boarding school in Dahlem- Marienau in 1961 Sager studied 1962-1968 American Studies, Political Science and Journalism at the Free University of Berlin. His journalistic career began after traineeships and free journalistic activities ( inter alia at Radio Bremen) in 1966 as an editor at RIAS Berlin, where he worked until 1968. Since 1968 Dirk Sager worked for ZDF.

For the ZDF was Dirk Sager et al correspondent in East Berlin, Moscow and Washington, DC From 1984 to 1990 he headed the editorial board of the political magazine indicator D. From 1990 to March 2004 he was, apart from a good one-year interruption as head of the ZDF studios Brandenburg, head of the ZDF studios in Moscow ( Russia see coverage in Germany ) and made since then, especially travel reports.

Sager was a member of the PEN center of Germany.

He died on January 2, 2014 in Potsdam. His final resting place he found on the South West Stahnsdorf.
