Dirk Schuster ( born December 29, 1967 in Karl- Marx-Stadt, now Chemnitz ) is a former German football player. The son of Eberhard Schuster was a defender in his clubs mostly regulars. He is now 98 worked as a coach at SV Darmstadt.
Sports career
With the juniors of FC Karl- Marx-Stadt Schuster 1986 DDR champion. In the same year he was with the junior national team of East Germany ( U19) in Yugoslavia, European champion ( 3-1 against Italy) and 1987 World Cup bronze medalist in Chile. In this team he played under coach Eberhard Vogel in defense.
After playing in the GDR in 1990 his professional football career at Eintracht Braunschweig. He quickly convinced there by his achievements and Karlsruher SC took him in the 1st Bundesliga. In Karlsruhe, he experienced his most successful period. Three times he was inducted into the national team, in 1994 against Hungary and Albania and in 1995 against Spain. Previously, he had already competed in four internationals for East Germany.
In 1997, he joined the 1st FC Cologne, with which he descended to the 2nd Bundesliga. After his time in Cologne, the steady change was his companion. From 2004 to 2006 he played for SV Waldhof Mannheim in the big leagues. For the 2006/2007 season, he joined the Association of northern Baden division ASV Durlach. In December 2006 he joined again the club and signed a contract until June 30, 2007 at the State division Alemannia Wilferdingen.
From November 2006 to January 2007 Schuster served as interim coach in ASV Durlach. In December 2007, Schuster was in course- Best 54th course for DFB football coach at the Hennes Weisweiler Academy at the German Sport University in Cologne.
From 2009 to November 2012 coached Dirk Schuster Stuttgarter Kickers. He rose with the Kickers for the season 2012/13 in the 3rd League, but was released after six games without a win in a row in November 2012.
Since December 28, 2012 Dirk Schuster is coach of SV Darmstadt 98 in the third league. He succeeds the sacked Jürgen Seeberger and signed a half year contract until the end of June 2014.
Achievements
Goal of the Month
On July 29, 1995 posted Schuster in the UI cup match against FC Aarau in the 87th minute for the 0-1 Karlsruher SC (final score 1:2 after extra time ). He sat through on the left wing against three Aarau and met in the penalty area from extreme angles only one meter away from the baseline. The hit was chosen by the spectators of sports show on the goal of the month of July.
