Dirk Weetendorf

Dirk Weetendorf ( born October 1, 1972 in Burg auf Fehmarn ) is a former German football player. The striker played in the late 1990s for Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, and later for Eintracht Braunschweig in regional and 2nd Bundesliga.

Career

Weetendorf came in 1995 to the second team of the HSV, from the 1996/97 season he played for the first team. Because of his talent, he was called by the fans based on Horst Hrubesch and Uwe Seeler " Horst- Uwe". During the winter break of the season 1998/99 he moved to Werder, but could there not prevail and was discharged after only seven scoreless inserts on the third division Eintracht Braunschweig with which he could ascend to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2002. At age 30, however, he had to end his career due to health problems.

After his playing days Dirk Weetendorf youth coach at Eintracht Braunschweig, until the summer of 2005, the B- youth, then to 2007, the A- youth was ( with whom he rose in the 2006/07 season in the A- youth - Bundesliga North ) when the club did not renew his contract. Since the 2009/10 season he coached the Association League Team of the ATSV Stockelsdorf.
