Dirty Work is an American short film comedy starring the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy in the lead role. The film opened on 25 November 1933, the American cinema, the German theatrical release was in 1956. In the German-speaking area of the film under the titles Dirty work, men in the chimney, as a chimney sweep and Laurel and Hardy as a chimney sweep is known.

Action

Stan and Ollie want as a chimney sweep to sweep the chimney of the mad scientist Professor Noodle. Due to the awkwardness Stans it comes to all sorts of funny mishaps, ending with the fact that both the entire living room dirty with ashes. During Noodles Butler spotted leaving the scene and goes into the bathroom, asks the professor, the two to assist him in his experiment, a makeover to the side. When the professor leaves the two briefly unattended, they want to make sure the truth and let a carp swimming in the pool. Stan shoves Ollie accidentally with all the tincture into the basin. Background

The shooting took place in the studios of Hal Roach between the 7 to 19 August 1933. When the chimney soot, the Ollie, Stan and the Butler spotted, chocolate was used. The film opened on 25 November 1933, the American cinema, the German theatrical release was in 1956.

Originally a much richer end was provided: After the professor told the two of its Tincture, Ollie does not believe him. To convince him, climbs the professor himself into the basin and evaporates in a chemical nowhere. He asks Stan to dribble 30 drops into the tub, so that he can return as a young man in this world. However, Stan leaves the container fall, after which the professor has to explain to him how to make such a serum. Ollie also falls while in the tub when he "Multi bonuses Bevi " reaches for a bottle on a shelf over the sink. When Stan has the means completed, he also falls as the third in the tub, the finally emerge from three different monkeys: one with glasses, one with Ollie's hat and one who scratches his head.

It was the last collaboration between Laurel and Hardy and her longtime writer HM Walker.

Synchronization

The German synchronization was born 1960/1961 with Walter Bluhm in the role of Stan and Arno Paulsen in the role of Ollie. The voice of the professor lent Anton Reimer. This dubbed version is still preserved.
