Disc dog

The term Discdogging, also called Frisbee Dog refers to a dog sport with a flying disc. In the simplest variant, a man throwing a Frisbee and the dog brings it back. Different variants and practicing various tricks of the sport can be operated individually and on tournament level.

History

In the United States began in the 1970s, the disc dog sport in America soon developed a practice on competition level dog sport. As a founding father of the sport applies Alex Stein and his dog, the Whippet male Ashley. The two were known as they break in a baseball championship game in Los Angeles ran on 5 August 1974, the board and there gave an unapproved and sensational performance with the Frisbee. In Germany the sport mainly by Jochen Schleicher was made known.

Discdogging is basically suitable for every dog ​​. To prevent risk of injury to the dog, only dog appropriate frisbees should be used.
