Gameplay

Discworld is a classic point -and- click adventure. Rincewind, the player character moves through a scrolling background and interacts with a click with people and objects. A map of the city and surrounding area serves as a quick travel option between different places. Objects can be examined or used, and repealed objects migrate either in a walking box, almost always accompanies the Rincewind, or in the pocket of the sorcerer's apprentice, which is limited. In certain situations in which the box can not follow, it is thus necessary to have the correct item with them. A special feature of the game is to travel through the L -Space, a journey through time, have their actions in the past affect the present of the game.

Versions

The game was originally released on both floppy disk and CD- ROM, the CD -ROM version of sound effects and a synchronization of all participants Characters contains.

After the release of Discworld II development began on a second CD -ROM version, based on the new Windows engine, and should include various bug fixes that were not closed in the original game. It should also be added a previously unreleased cutscene. This second CD -ROM version was never published because the publisher did not want to bear the costs involved to test the game.

The game is based on the Tinsel engine, which is now integrated into ScummVM, so that Discworld is playable on many different platforms.

Reception

The game was praised for its humor, synchronization, and the graph. Critics objected to the gameplay and puzzles. Discworld is considered to be difficult and challenging adventure game.
