Disraeli Gears

Disraeli Gears is the second of four LP releases of the British blues-rock group Cream.

It was released in November 1967 and reached number 5 in the UK album charts. In the United States it even reached # 4 on the charts and caused quite the local breakthrough of the band. As single releases spawned the album Sunshine of Your Love and Strange Brew. Both titles show that the supergroup has continued to develop with their second album by the still rather bluesigerem sound of the previous album to more psychedelic sounds.

The cover of Disraeli Gears was designed by Martin Sharp, an Australian cartoonist, songwriter and film-maker. He was also the song Tales of Brave Ulysses gave his lyrical dress. In this song, Eric Clapton also used for the first time the wah -wah pedal (even before Jimi Hendrix ).

The U.S. edition of Rolling Stone chose in its list of the 500 best albums of all time, the album at number 114
