Ditte Kotzian

Ditte Kotzian ( born March 9, 1979 in Berlin) is a former German Water Diving.

Ditte Kotzian began as a child, first with the gymnastics before she came to the water jump. She started for the Berliner TSC and was coached by Jan Kretzschmar. Later she studied sport sciences with a focus on competitive sports / education. Their first success she achieved as a 14 -year-old at the European Youth Championships in 1993, where it reached gold from the 1- meter board and a sensational 5th place from the 3- meter springboard and platform diving. Overall Kotzian won 16 medals at European Junior and Youth World Cup, of which seven gold.

In 2002 she won in Berlin two European titles in synchronized diving from the 3- m- board with Conny Schmalfuß and synchronous diving with Annett Gamm and silver from the 3 -meter board. At the European Championships in 2006 she won silver from 1 -meter and the 3 -meter board, as well as silver in the synchronized diving from the 3 -meter board with Heike Fischer - a success that both could repeat in Eindhoven in 2008. Also at the World Championships in 2005 and 2007 won Kotzian silver in synchronized diving from the 3 -meter board. Her career she was crowned at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing by winning the bronze medal in synchronized diving from the 3- m board.

In advance of the German Championships in art and diving in Aachen Ditte Kotzian the end of their sporting careers announced in May 2009. The 1.77 m rather tall water jumper brought 30 German league titles ..
