Diva Destruction

Diva Destruction is an American gothic rock and death rock music group that was founded in 1998 by Debra Fogarty in Los Angeles. The name of the project, Diva Destruction is ambiguous. He can call on the one hand a destroyed Diva, or a destructive diva. The lyrics of Diva Destruction treat predominantly intense feeling worlds of both positive and negative kind, the music is inspired by bands like The Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees and London After Midnight.

Career

Originally started as a solo project, went through over the years several musicians the band, always behind frontwoman Fogarty, who graduated a classical vocal training and piano studies. The first album, which produced in 1999 and published in 2000 Passion's Price was written by Debra Fogarty, sung by her and Severina Del Sol and played by another guest musicians. The release of their debut album, under the German label Alice in. .. brought Diva Destruction benevolent criticism from the press.

After Severina Del Sol left the project, a membership structure with the musicians Debra Sharon, Jimmy Cleveland and Benn Ra consolidates. In the incident in Bochum, the band contests on July 21, 2001, her first European concert. Several festival appearances, as at the Wave -Gotik-Treffen (2002, again in 2004 ) contribute to further increase brand awareness.

The 2003 follow-up album released Exposing the Sickness leads the musical style continued accustomed, however, sounds more aggressive and harder than the debut. After the tour there is a rift between 2003 Fogarty and Sharon and Ra, which is why the latter left the band. The third album (Run Cold, 2006) was therefore co-produced alongside Fogarty and Cleveland by guest musicians.
