Diving at the 1936 Summer Olympics

In the XI. 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin four competitions were held in the water jump.

Diving

On competition in the art of jumping men participated 24 athletes from 15 countries. The competition was held on August 10 and 11, each from 8:00 clock. The venue was the 20 meter x 20 meter diving pool in the swimming stadium.

The competition consisted of five compulsory and Kürsprüngen from the 3- meter board. The obligation jumps were a somersault, a plunge backwards from the state, an Auerbach running jump, a forward somersault, backwards from the state as well as a half forward with drill -up. The free program was selected from the jump table with 24 jumps into five groups. The greatest difficulty of 2.3 included a half gainer or one and a half somersault with a full twist with each start.

The Peruvian Alfredo Calderon Alvárez not carry out all the required jumps, for which he was set to the last place. All three medals were won by athletes from the United States and those held on August 16, a show jumping.

Diving

At the competition in diving the men participated 26 athletes from 15 countries. The competition was held on August 14 at 8:30 clock and on August 15 from 10:00 clock. The venue was the 20 meter x 20 meter diving pool in the swimming stadium.

The competition consisted of four compulsory and Kürsprüngen from the 10 - meter tower. The obligation jumps were a plunge forward from the state, a plunge forward with start-up, a backward somersault from the state and Auerbach jump from a standing start the biggest difficulty of 2.3 for the Kürsprüngen had the double back somersault from the state as well as the half gainer with start-up or suspended.

Women

Diving

At the competition in springboard diving of the women had 16 athletes from nine countries. The competition was held on August 12 from 8:00 clock and the venue was the 20 meter x 20 meter diving pool in the swimming stadium.

The competition consisted of three compulsory and four Kürsprüngen from the 3- meter board. The obligation jumps were a somersault with start-up, a plunge backwards from the state and Auerbach running jump. In the jump table for the freestyle 14 jumps, which were the most demanding of 2.0 of the gainer with start-up and one and a half somersault, backwards, gehechtet or perched.

All three medals were won by athletes from the United States. Marjorie knitted ring was at the age of 13 years and 266 days, the youngest Olympic Champion of all time.

Diving

At the competition in diving the women took 22 athletes from some ten countries. The competition was held on August 13 at 8:30 clock and the venue was the 20 meter x 20 meter diving pool in the swimming stadium.

The competition consisted of four compulsory jumps from 5 - meter tower and the 10 - meter tower. The obligation jumps were a plunge forward with start-up (5 meters ), a plunge forward from the state (10 meters ), a plunge forward with starting ( 10 meters) and a back flip from the state (5 meters).
