Diving at the 2012 Summer Olympics

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 took place from 29 July to 11 August 2012 at the Aquatics Centre eight competitions in the water jumping instead, each a single and a synchro competition from the 3- meter springboard and 10 meter platform for women and men. The program was thus identical to Beijing 2008.

Qualification

Qualification criteria

There are about 136 athletes take part in the competitions, each 68 women and men. Eight quota places were the host NOK guaranteed. Every nation must mobilize a maximum of two athletes in the individual competitions and a pair in the synchro competitions. A total of up to 34 individual starters and eight synchronous pairs per competition is allowed. The following eligibility criteria were considered for both women and men.

Quota places for the respective NOK won in each of the four individual disciplines, the twelve finalists of the World Swimming Championships from 16 to 31 July 2011 in Shanghai, the five winners of the continental championships as well as up to 18 semi-finalists of the World Cup from 20 to 25 February 2012 in London. You may still have free quota places, the number of which depended on the extent to which overlapped the eligible through the world championships, continental championships and the World Cup athletes were awarded following the World Cup on 26 February 2012 in a Dive -Off. First, in each competition won the first four athletes the dive- offs a quota place. The number increased later, since quota places were free by athletes who have been nominated in the synchronous and in the individual competitions. Qualified for the synchro competitions a pair of the host, the medalist at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai and the four best not eligible couples were at the World Cup 2012 in London, respectively.

Won quota places

In the men 's springboard Australia and the Netherlands gave a quota place and Japan two quota places at the FINA back.
