DJ Hollywood

DJ Hollywood ( born December 10, 1954 real name Anthony Holloway ) is a hip -hop DJ and MC and one of the pioneers of the genre. He or his former partner Lovebug Starski coined the term hip-hop.

Career

Hollywood began his musical career at the age of 14. After his first singing attempt in some groups, he resorted to DJing. In 1971 he put on Apollo Theatre and the Charles Gallery in Harlem. With advent of disco style, he first gained notoriety. He was in the 1970s one of the most popular artists of the old school hip hop and one of the first DJs who deliberately isolated passages from danceable songs. His mixes he put with different rhymes, the first rape, so to speak. Considered together with partners and competitors such as Kool Herc, King Tim the 3rd and Grandmaster Flash to the inventors of hip hop and counted for the first rapper.
