DJ Khalil

DJ Khalil ( born as Khalil Abdul- Rahman ) is an American music producer from Los Angeles.

Career

DJ Khalil grew up in Los Angeles, the son of NBA player Mahdi Abdul- Rahman, who was a great jazz lover. So Khalil came early in his life in touch with music. This he occupied himself in the episode with a lot of DJing and finally decided to try as a producer, influenced by Pete Rock, DJ Premier and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, all of which were also both DJ, as well as produced. Soon after, he met Chace Infinite, whom he met playing basketball. With him, he formed the group Self Scientific.

Khalil productions excited Finally, in 2003 the attention of Dr. Dre, as this Khalil beats heard on a demo recording of the musician Brooklyn. Dre then signed him for the production team of his label Aftermath Entertainment. This allowed him to work with many well known artists and consolidated its position in the scene.

In addition, Khalil part of the group The New Royales, an alternative band that combines rock music with hip-hop.
