DJ Ram

Roman Olegovich Penkow (Russian Роман Олегович Пеньков; born November 17, 1976 in Kirovohrad, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian music producer and remixer. He achieved fame primarily for his work under the pseudonym DJ Ram. Penkow specializes in alternative, electronic music, electronica and synth pop, and has produced 2001-2011 over 100 remixes by its own account.

Career

1994 ended Penkow the college number 10 in Kursk with educational focus on physics and mathematics. He started in the same year, a physics and computer science study, which he successfully completed in 2000. Under the pseudonym DJ Ram 1997, he began a professional career as a remixer in Moscow. This Penkow distinguished himself particularly in dealing with modern DJ equipment, where he was able to draw on his knowledge learned in the study. Also in 1997 he released his first album titled " РЭМЕСЛО " ( REMJESLO ). He also created remixes for well-known Russian bands like 7B, Mumi troll and tATu. For his remix version of the song Yes soschla s uma was produced from scenes of the original clip a remix video. In the autumn of 2001 the band released Synthphony 2001: Russian Strike over the top plate Synthphony Records released his second album. After the release of the remix album Penkow led the international project Virtual Server which artists from around the world combined, including from Germany, Canada, Australia, Switzerland and the USA. Penkow composed and wrote the songs, which were then forwarded by the project team to the various bands that recorded them this. The resulting songs were published in September 2002 on the album Installed on the U.S. record label A Different Drum. On 14 April, Wild Awake, coupled July 23 traps as a single. 2006 moved to Moscow Penkow. On 6 March 2007 appeared on the same label with setup another album of the project, which includes 13 songs from 13 different artists.
