DJ Sammy

DJ Sammy ( born October 29, 1969 in Palma de Mallorca, real name Samuel Bouriah ) is a Spanish DJ and music producer. Hitherto he had four top ten hits in the UK and was the producer and life partner of Carisma ( project Loona ).

Biography

DJ Sammy's musical career began in 1984 in the dance clubs Alexandra, Bananas and Zorba's in Mallorca. At the same time he finished his training as a sound engineer in Majorca Music College. In 1991 he met the singer Marie - Jose van der Kolk, who was responsible for the vocals of his songs under her former stage name Carisma and from then appeared with him at Zorba 's. In 1992 he became resident DJ, DJ ie permanent employee, at Joy Palace Club in Arenal.

In November 1995, DJ Sammy and Carisma released their first single Life Is Just a Game that went into Spain in the Top 10. In June 1998, the self-titled debut album, which received positive reviews throughout Europe appeared. In addition, the album could advance to number 62 in the German single charts.

In the same year DJ Sammy and Carisma founded the joint project Loona. Bailando was their first single. This was a huge success and is considered a summer hit 1998. He celebrated in 2002 his biggest solo success with a cover version of Bryan Adams ' Heaven, a collaboration with the German DJ Yanou, member of the bands Cascada and RIO, and the Dutch singer Dominique van Hulst, which rose in England up to number 1 on the charts and sold in Europe and Australia over 2 million times. His cover version of Don Henley 's classic The Boys of Summer reached # 2 on the British charts.

In the following years, DJ Sammy released again and again cover versions of classics such as Why by Annie Lennox and Everybody Hurts by REM. Lot of the songs were able to celebrate great achievements especially in the UK. He received during his career, world silver, gold and platinum records.

In 2006, DJ Sammy, along with Gabriel Ward, the project Parker & Hanson. With which to represent the genre of progressive trance. They signed contracts with various record labels, including the British trance label Anjunabeats.

DJ Sammy himself is the founder of Dance Label Super M Records, the artist agency Bahia Music Management and the Gamba Music Company. He works as a producer for several pop and rock bands.

Since 2010 he is with the German dance label Kontor Records. His first single, which appeared on the label, was Animal, with this he began his musical style from trance to switch to house music. The voices of the tracks were the singer Nyah, as well as the rapper Jean Baptiste.

On February 3, 2012, he published over the song Kontor Look for Love. The music video was released in two variations. In a radio edit was used. In the second of Jose de Mara remix. Both versions could reach more than 12 million clicks. However, the charts could not reach the track.

In mid-June 2013 were offered on iTunes, the song Shut Up and Kiss Me along with the Jackie Boyz for individual download Kontor Top of the Clubs. DJ Sammy and Marie- Jose van der Kolk ( Loona ) separated in 2007 professionally and personally. They have a daughter ( Saphira Maria) and live on Mallorca.
