Djefatnebti

Djefatnebti was the name of an ancient Egyptian queen of the third dynasty, who was romantically involved according to Günter Dreyer perhaps with King (Pharaoh) Huni.

Documents

The only one so far reliable evidence of a queen of that name is an earthen pitcher of beer, which was found at Elephantine. It is inscribed with black ink. Overall, there were three labeled jars. The first inscription on the first pitcher called the year of a Horus -conduct and the construction of a building, whose name was not obtained. The second inscription mentions another Horus conduct, as well as the " 11 Times the estimate of Heliopolis. " The third inscription is called the year of the publication of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, "3rd Time of combating the robber "and it mentions the death of Queen Djefatnebti. Said estimates ( control surveys) have generally held every two years, so that the inscription dated to the 22nd year of the reign not mentioned ruler. The inscription therefore probably dates from the years shortly before or shortly after. As for an interpretation of Günter Dreyer ruled no other king more than 22 years as Huni during the 3rd dynasty, he has Djefatnebti this ruler as a wife to. However, its interpretation is not universally accepted, as the inscriptions Huni not explicitly mention.

Identity

About the identity of Djefatnebti almost nothing is known. The pitcher has marked her only the title " Weret - hetes " ( German for " The size of the Hetes - scepter " ) to what is a typical title queens of the Old Kingdom. For more information on this person missing. Their burial place is also unknown.
