Djelfa Province

The Djelfa or El- Djelfa Province (Arabic ولاية الجلفة, DMG Wilāyat al - Ǧilfa, also Dschilfa ) is a province ( wilaya ) in Algeria.

The province is located in the transition area between the densely populated north and the sparsely populated south and covers an area of ​​33,236 km ²

Around 1,197,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus about 36 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Djelfa, other cities with populations over 100,000 are Ain Oussera and Messaad.
