More than 100 years - until 1976 - the company had its headquarters where today stands the city hall. Since then, the Gildemeisterstraße 60 new companies in Bielefeld group location, the world today 6,426 employees and 202 trainees. Business Profile

The DMG MORI SEIKI - core "Machine Tools " 's new machine to the Group's business with turning, milling and ultrasonic / laser and the ECOLINE product line and Electronics. DMG MORI SEIKI production works are in accordance with their technological core competencies across locations in networks combined ( composite rotation, the Milling, Milling and Machining Association and ECOLINE composite ).

The segment " Industrial Services" reflects the areas of Services and Energy Solutions. In the Services bundles Gildemeister services and service products around the machine tool life cycle and business with Mori Seiki machines. The Energy Solutions offers comprehensive energy solutions for the generation, storage, and application for industrial enterprises and built large-scale photovoltaic systems for investors.

Business

The area of the "Machine Tools" includes the Produktilinien turning, milling and ultrasonic / laser and the Electronics and Ecoline product line. Other business summarizes the segment "Industrial Services" with the DMG Vertriebs und Service GmbH and its subsidiaries together; these include the service, automation, and the field of Energy Solutions.

Machine Tools

Turn

Among the six product lines of the business field turning include universal and vertical lathes, turning centers and milling and turning centers for 5 - axis machining. In this area the Gildemeister Lathes GmbH GRAZIANO Tortona are in Bielefeld, Srl and the Gildemeister Italiana SpA (both Italy) operates.

Mill

The milling division comprises eight product lines: universal milling machines to horizontal and vertical machining centers, traveling column and HSC - precision machines to milling machines and machining centers for 5 - axis machining.

In the Milling the LID MAHO GmbH and SAUER GmbH active in the milling technologies and Ultrasonic and Laser. In the Milling and Machining Association, Deckel Maho Seebach GmbH and FAMOT Pleszew complement Sp in the control and utilization of the Group's internal mechanical manufacturing capacity.

Ultrasonic / laser

With four product lines in the business field ultrasonic / laser Gildemeister processing technologies, for materials with special properties workpiece to produce intricate cavities and fine engravings and inscriptions.

The product line consists of Ultrasonic machines for ultrasonic assisted machining of materials such as ceramic, glass, silicon, composites, carbide, hardened steel, sapphire or pearl. The ultrasonic assisted spindles interfere with the traditional machining processes (eg milling) with a high frequency oscillating motion. Compared to conventional methods, this approach enhances up to five times higher productivity, longer tool life while providing a better surface finish and flexibility in the processed workpiece geometries.

The machines of the lasertec series offer the option to manipulate filigree workpieces and finest cavities, even in hard to machine materials. The modular design of this line allows different applications for 3D laser ablation, laser fine cutting and drilling as well as the combined manufacturing with high-speed milling.

Ecoline

The four ECOLINE product lines are represented by the ECOLINE GmbH, Deckel Maho Gildemeister Machine Tools Co., Ltd.. , Shanghai, and in the future also covered by the Ulyanovsk Machine Tools OOO in Russia.

The machines of the ECOLINE composite provide an entry into the CNC turning or milling.

Electronics

The DMG Electronics GmbH is responsible for the development of electronic, software and control solutions. This division of power tools consist of three product lines ( Job Preparation, Job Assistance and job monitoring ) to improve the value chain in the processing of machine tools.

Industrial services

Services

The Services include services and service products to machine tools and business with Mori Seiki machines. The DMG / MORI SEIKI LifeCycle Services designed to improve the productivity of machine tools - from commissioning to trade as a used machine. The offer is flanked by training, repair and maintenance services for customers.

The DMG Automation also distributes workpiece and pallet handling systems for automatic loading and unloading of machine tools. The equipment for tool presetting the DMG Microset enable further productivity increases, because the tools can be adjusted during machining. The DMG Spare Parts provides customers with spare parts.

Energy Solutions

The Energy Solutions include five business areas: Energy Efficiency, SunCarriers, Cellstrom, service and next day delivery. The product range is used for the generation, storage and use of renewable energy. Systems of solar systems ( " SunCarriers " ) as well as the energy storage " CellCube " allow the CO2 - free power generation and supply of production in industrial plants. Industrial customers thus offer the Energy Solutions solutions for optimizing their energy management. For investors, large-scale photovoltaic plants will be built.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Energy-saving products

DMG MORI SEIKI is co-initiator of the VDW Blue Competence initiative. This initiative of the Association of German Machine Tool is to reduce the energy demand of production machines in Europe. To meet specific environmental criteria is a prerequisite for membership in the initiative. Measures to increase energy efficiency; Gildemeister the label DMG ENERGY SAVING. They extend holistically on the areas of electronics, control engineering and mechanics. The combination of increased productivity and energy optimization enables energy savings of up to 30%.

Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions

In addition to the careful use of resources Gildemeister developed regenerative drives for machine tools, so that the braking energy for subsequent acceleration processes can be reused. The thermally optimized cabinet design eliminates additional energy consumption for cooling. In addition to low-friction roller bearing guides compensate for weight offsets on the axes vertically moving masses. Both measures reduce the necessary acceleration forces, and thus the energy consumption.

Sustainable enterprise safety

All DMG MORI SEIKI - board members were employed prior to their appointment to senior positions within the Group, some of them have already completed their training at Gildemeister. In comparison to other listed companies this personal continuity is high at the top of the company, and thus a specific feature of sustainability. In 2012, the average term of office of a board of a German stock corporation was 5.5 years, while the average length of a CEO was 5.4 years. Rüdiger Kapitza was appointed to the Board of Gildemeister in 1992, since April 1996 he has been Chairman of the Board.

New energy concepts and systems

At the Bielefeld site exists since 2012 a holistic energy concept that the current costs for various divisions of the company reduced by 25 %, including for the hall lighting, air conditioning and the compressors in production. A key component of the concept is to locally produce the energy itself, to store and use. The " energy solutions Park " consists of 86 SunCarriers 22, 13 SunCarriers 250 and four WindCarrier. They produce no emissions annually about 1 gigawatt -hour of electricity; This reduces the CO ² emissions by about 560 tons per year. The core is also the energy storage CellCube FB 200-400 with a storage capacity of 400 kilowatt-hours. The parallel connection of several units of the container CellCube FB 200-400 realizes the simple design of energy storage in the megawatt range. At five production sites Gildemeister SunCarriers has installed for the environmentally friendly energy. In 2013, approximately 1.43 million kilowatt hours should thus generates electricity with zero emissions and 800 tons of CO ² emissions can be avoided. This calculation is based on the average CO ² emissions of 559 grams per kilowatt hour, as calculated by the Federal Environment Agency for the year 2011 in Germany.
