Dmitri Alenichev

Dmitry Alenitschew (Russian: Дмитрий Анатольевич Аленичев; born October 20, 1972 in Welikije Luki, Russian SFSR ) is a retired Russian football player.

Career

Club teams

Alenitschew began his career as a football pro in 1991 at Lokomotiv Moscow, but moved in 1994 to its declared favorite team, their city rivals Spartak Moscow. His first foreign engagement was the midfielder in 1998 to AS Roma, where in his second season, he completed only seven league games and was subsequently loaned for a year at Perugia Calcio. The highlight of his career he experienced between 2000 and 2004 with the Portuguese club FC Porto, with whom he won the UEFA Cup ( 2003) and the Champions League ( 2004). In both finals ( in Seville or in the Veltins- Arena in Gelsenkirchen) he managed a goal each. After the end of the season 2003/ 04 he was transferred back to Spartak Moscow, where he played until April 2006. After a confrontation with the coach of Spartak, Aleksandrs Starkovs, he was first put in the second team, finally released in September of his contract.

National

For the Russian national football team Alenitschew played 55 games, including two games at the 2002 World Cup and three matches at Euro 2004. He scored six goals for his association.
