Dmitri Bruns

Dmitri Bruns ( born January 11, 1929 in Riga) is an Estonian architect and architectural theorist.

Life

Dmitri Bruns graduated in 1953 his studies at the Institute of Civil Engineering in Leningrad from. From 1960 to 1979 he was executive secretary of the Union of Architects of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1968 he graduated in architecture.

From 1960 to 1980 Dmitri Bruns was the chief architect of the Estonian capital, Tallinn, and from 1980 to 1991 head of the State Building Committee of the Estonian SSR. He is one of the drafters of the 1971 completed development plan of Tallinn. 1973, the title of " Honoured architect of the Estonian SSR " he was awarded for his achievements.

In addition, Bruns presented numerous scientific and historical work on the Tallinn History of Architecture and Urban Planning.
