Dmitri Kazionov

Dmitri Alexandrovich Kasionow (Russian Дмитрий Александрович Казионов; born May 13, 1984 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League since November 2011. His brother Denis is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Dmitri Kasionow began his career as a hockey player with the HK Dynamo Moscow, in its youth, he was active until 2000. Then the attacker for one season for THK Tver and HK CSKA Moscow in the Wysschaja League was under contract, after which he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 in the fourth round as a total 100 players from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa, however, never took him under contract. Instead, the links contactors from 2002 to 2005 was for the HK Lada Togliatti on the ice, before he returned for the 2005/ 06 season to his former club HK Dynamo Moscow, with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup. After only one year Kasionow moved to their league rivals Ak Bars Kazan, with whom he again won the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2007 and 2008 IIHF Continental Cup. In the season 2008/ 09 the center with Kazan was the first time in his career to win the Gagarin Cup. In the 2009/10 season he was again able to win with Ak Bars Kazan the Gagarin Cup.

After he started the 2011/12 season with Ak Bars Kazan, Kasionow was transferred in November 2011 within the KHL to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

Internationally

For Russia Kasionow took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2002 and the U20 World Youth Championship in 2004.
