Dmitry Pestunow (Russian: Дмитрий Анатольевич Пестунов; born January 22, 1985 in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian- Kazakh hockey player who is under contract with the OHK Dynamo in the Kontinental Hockey League since January 2011.

Career

Dmitri Pestunow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk. From there he moved to Russian club HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, for its professional team of Center in the 2002/03 season his debut in the Super League was. In his rookie year, he scored four goals in 32 games. The following year, he failed with his team until the playoff finals for the title at the HK Avangard Omsk. However, the 2004/05 season he began again with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, she finished the capital club HK Spartak Moscow, in twelve games for which he scored a goal and gave a presentation.

In the summer of 2005 Pestunow returned to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, with whom he later in the year won the Spengler Cup. In the season 2006/ 07 the former youth international was the first time in his career, Champion of Russia with the Metallurg. Following this success, he joined a year to his former club Spartak Moscow. From 2008 to 2010 played with the Russian Kazakh passport for HK Avangard Omsk in the the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League before he signed a contract with HC Traktor Chelyabinsk for season 2010/11. After six gates and eleven originals in 43 games, he moved in January 2011 within the KHL for OHK Dynamo.

Internationally

For Russia Pestunow participated in the Under-18 Junior World Cup in 2003, as well as the U20 World Junior Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005 in part. In 2003 he won the bronze, with the U20 national team the gold medal with the U18 national team. In the 2005 U20 World Cup, he became Vice World Champion with his team.
