Dmitry Jakovenko

Dmitri Olegovich Yakovenko (Russian Дмитрий Олегович Яковенко; born June 28, 1983 in Nizhnevartovsk ) is a Russian grandmaster in chess.

Yakovenko playing chess since he was three years old. The age of seven he reached the first category and the age of fourteen the title of International Master. In 1999 he won in Oropesa del Mar, the title of Vice Champion at the Junior World Championship to 16 years, and at the same place in 2001, the Junior World Championship title to 18 years.

The Open tournament in Pardubice in 2002 he reached the shared first place. In 2005, he was the superior winner in Montreal, he won the silver medal at the Cup of Russia.
