DMX (music)

Digital Music Express, shortly DMX, is an 1971 based services company headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, which offers a variety of tailor-made digital music and video services for commercial customers. The company can look back on decades of research on the impact of music on consumer behavior and expanded its range in recent times, to flavors and odors.

In 2001 merged DMX as a subsidiary of Liberty Digital Inc. in Los Angeles with AEI Music ( Seattle ), where 56 percent of Liberty and AEI holds 44 percent of the shares. The new company will operate under the name DMX / AEI Music. In 2000, DMX -established, globally available, constantly updated music database called ProFusion, 2005, video clips were integrated. For a long time offered to DMX numerous specialized music channels for cable and satellite customers, last feeding was also over the Internet.

Music programs for commercial use are created under certain circumstances, disk-based locally and continuously updated. Overall genres are offered on the 400, which can be combined arbitrarily. 2006 merged the European branch DMX MUSIC International with Mood Media to Mood Media Group.

A proposed merger of the U.S. with the DMX also U.S. competitor Muzak Holdings LLC was reset by the in February 2009 requested by Musak insolvency proceedings for the time being.

History

DMX previously worked primarily as a provider of specialized non-stop music channels for commercial and residential customers. In Europe, the company spread its products principally under the name X -tra Music ( comprised last 47 channels in the 90s DMX was already represented on the ADR platform). The channels were assembled in the U.S., while the editors were able to access the largest music archive in the world. On the different channels rotated about 2 million songs, also German -language music programs ( Beat, Folk Music, etc.) were available.

The music channels have been transmitted through a worldwide network of satellites in Europe under the name Xtra Music via the Astra satellite 1 F. Intellectual customer individually assembled channels were leaked online, private customers took advantage of the DMX -Bouquets either directly to satellite dish or cable, in both cases was a commercial decoder with card slot required ( the activation of the channels by means of smart card).
