Dmytro Anatolijowytsch Tschyhrynskyj (Ukrainian Дмитро Чигринський, UEFA Dmytro Chygrynskiy transcription; Russian Дмитрий Анатольевич Чигринский; born November 7, 1986 in Izjaslav ) is a Ukrainian footballer who currently plays for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Career
Association
Tschyhrynskyj plays since 2002 for the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk tip. He made his debut in 2004 at the age of 17 years for Donetsk. In 2005 he played temporarily at Metalurh Zaporizhia, returned after a year to Shakhtar Donetsk. Since then it has established itself as a regular player at Shakhtar. In the 2007 /08 season, he was appointed vice-captain and was man of the match in the Ukrainian Cup final against Dynamo Kiev, which you, as well as the Ukrainian National Championship won. In the 2008 /09 season he won with Donetsk in the UEFA Cup.
On 27 August 2009, it was announced that he will change for a transfer fee of 25 million euros to FC Barcelona. He signed a five-year contract. On September 12, 2009 Tschyhrynskyj made his debut for Barcelona in the league game against Getafe. Tschyhrynskyj, who was the first Ukrainians in the jersey of FC Barcelona, it was hard to conquer at Barça a starting spot in central defense, as Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué were set. Added to this was that he was not eligible to play in the Champions League, as he had already played with Donetsk in qualifying. Although he won with Barcelona, the Spanish league title in 2010, but was there only used twelve times.
After one season he returned again back to Donetsk. He signed on 6 July 2010 a five- year contract with the Ukrainian champions who paid him for 15 million euros to FC Barcelona.
National
In 2006, he was as substitutes because Serhiy Fedorov turned out at short notice, called to the squad of Ukraine for the 2006 World Cup, but came to no use. Meanwhile Tschyhrynskyj has denied 27 caps for the Ukraine.
He was U-21 national team of Ukraine and achieved there with 11 inserts two goals. In the U-21 European Championships in Portugal in 2006 Tschyhrynskyj became vice European champion and chosen by UEFA in the best team of the tournament.
