DNA (duo)

DNA was the dance project of DJs Nick Batt ( born Nicholas Batt) and Neal Slateford (* in Bath ) from Bristol, England.

Band History

The duo DNA obtained in 1990 by the remix of Suzanne Vega tracks Tom's Diner, which placed itself in several countries at position 1 on the charts, notoriety. They underlaid the original with computer beats. The permission of the author got the producers only when the remix had conquered the dance scene. More singles reached mainly places in the UK singles chart.

From DNA 1990, there were an additional remix of Suzanne Vega songs, Rusted Pipe, and in 2000 a radio mix of Rosemary. With a new mix of Loreena McKennitt The Mummers ' Dance 1997, a No. 1 hit on the Billboard airplay charts succeeded. As of 1998, the active time was finished as DNA.

Between 2000 and 2005 Nick Batt worked for Goldfrapp on three albums, Felt Mountain, Black Cherry and Supernature. As co -author of Strict Machine, a song from the album Black Cherry, he received an Ivor Novello Award.
