Dnestrovsc (Russian Днестровск / Dnestrovsk ) is a city in Transnistria. It is located on Kutschurgan Lake on the border of Ukraine and 2010 had about 11,000 inhabitants. Dnestrovsc is about 40 kilometers away from Tiraspol, Odessa is approximately 80 km away.

The place is known for the local power plant Moldavskaia GRES, which was built during the Soviet period.

History

Dnestrovsc is a very young city. The settlement did not begin until February 28, 1961, and how often to Soviet times, together with the construction of the city -forming enterprise - the district electric power plant Moldavskaia GRES - located as Werksiedlung 3 km to the west of the power plant.
