Dnevnik (Bulgaria)

Dnevnik ( Bulgarian Дневник, German transcription: Dnevnik, on German about daily paper ) is an economically oriented Bulgarian daily newspaper published Monday through Friday since 2001. The online service of Dnevnik, EurActiv 's partner portal.

By early 2005, the Broadsheet format was printed and was the last Bulgarian newspaper that used this large format. After a survey in 2005 revealed that over 50 percent of the readership would prefer a smaller and thicker paper, they switched to a more compact format. The editorial represents a liberal course: the state should intervene less and the economy give more clearance. As the influential weekly newspaper, the Economic and Political Magazine Capital, the newspaper Dnevnik is published by the Economedia based in Sofia.

The German publishing group Georg von Holtzbrinck (eg Handelsblatt ) held a 50 percent share of the Economedia. However, the Bulgarian owner of the Economedia bought those shares back in November 2007.

Dnevnik has a print run 12000-15000 copies. 6,000 copies are distributed to paying subscribers, 2,000 to 5,000 copies will be distributed free of charge and 5,000 copies are distributed at newsstands and kiosks. In November 2005, the paper launched the supplement Morski Dnevnik ( morski is the adjective to Sea / German: marine Tageblatt) for the Bulgarian Black Sea region, which appears along with the Friday edition.

Dnevnik publishes a daily online edition in Bulgarian and English, while the most important headlines of the day via e -mail in one of the two languages ​​to all subscribers of this free service. In addition, an RSS - short message service is available in Bulgarian.

2009 got Dnevnik by the Bulgarian Web Association the award for the best information website awarded.
